heather turns 33

wishing I was at the beach on my birthday.
(Candice and Steve are in Hawaii for three weeks right now-
celebrating Candice's birthday Sept 19th)
That's me in the caboose. The things I do for Emmett.

OK, I am always giving updates on the kids and there was a small request for how I am doing so here it is. At 33 years old I am back in school, attending CU Denver for a masters in Early Childhood Education with a license in Special Education. I am still on maternity leave at Sewall until November 3rd! Three is sort of a family magic number right now- I am 33, Wes is 32, Emmett is 3, Kenzie is 3 months and 33 days.
My hair is over 22 inches long, thanks to the prenatal vitamins. I weigh more than I want to at 133 lb. and 5 ft 2 inches tall. Which makes me in the 27th percentile in weight and 19% for height for a white adult female. (yes, I looked it up) I am NOT sleeping through the night.
I am EXHAUSTED and I could not be happier. I have a beautiful and healthy family and they are my ultimate joy. I enjoy riding the kiddie train, swimming in water too cold, going to the zoo on MY birthday, watching PBS instead of the Today show, peeing with the door open, laughing at Emmett just to get him to eat two more bites of dinner, waking 3 and 4 times a night to feed Kenzie, jumping around like a scarecrow to get her to smile, In fact I would do anything to make my children happy and most of the time I do. I could not be more blessed to be here in Denver with Wes and our amazing children.

Emmett the zebra

What??!! I am not a Lion Cub anymore?

Happy to be a Zebra-
In fact he wore his Zebra halloween costume to school his first day to celebrate!
E in his Sewall shirt in front of Sewall on his first day of school!
enjoying the seesaw

Emmett has officially moved to the upstairs class- the zebra room. He is one of ten typical children learning along side with 5 kids with autism. He is in a 3-5 year age group and seems to be thrilled that he is a big boy. We tried to motivate him to potty train but he seems very content to use his diapers - because Kenzie does.
Here are a few photos from Sewall and his classrooms.

E still wears hats too!

* please  read explanation - I don't want you to think I dress him
like this in the middle of the summer.
or like this. (this is Kenzie's bikini)

Emmett wanted to follow up on his hat profile.
He cracks me up! He had to wear the "goo-goo"shark googles too.

*Anything Kenzie does he is always there to do it too!
(When she burps he burps, same with using diapers, sitting in her high chair, her bouncy chair, tummy time, photo shoots, but OUR personal favorite is when he wears her clothes!)
I thought it was the little sister that copied the big brother not the other way around.

SU2C

With Loving memory of my mother and grandfather,
I vow to keep Standing Up To Cancer

Stand Up To Cancer! tonight on three major networks (NBC, CBS, ABC) a fundraiser is being aired to help promote awareness and raise money for cancer research. Please check it out at
8pm ET. Obviously, it is a fight that I am not willing to let go unnoticed as I have lost too many loved ones to cancer. In honor of my mother, I launched a star and made a donation to http://www.StandUp2Cancer.org
please visit her star and honor someone you know who fought the battle of cancer too.
