Clark Kent, Super Why, Leo from the Little Einsteins, his entire family (except mom and Kenzie) all wear glasses- here is the true story of Emmett's new frames.

At school, a company called The Lion's Club came and tested all the kids' eyes with new photo technology. Emmett's test came back that he might have an astigmatism. So after passing the eye test at the pediatrician's we were weary of going to an eye doctor, but the good parents that we try to be, we followed up at an eye Dr. The Dr. dilated his eyes and got an accurate reading and said Emmett indeed needs to wear glasses for farsightedness and astigmatism. He needs to wear them ALL the time so his eyes develop correctly (with the hopes he will only have to wear them for reading in the future). His grandpa Steve has the same diagnosis and has worn glasses since he was a kid too! Grandpa thought it would be fun to have a glasses party to celebrate this occasion. SO here is a family photo of our party! Immediately Emmett started noticing little letters on his car seat that he never saw before. He noticed a lot of things with his new glasses that day. We noticed how BIG he really is.

Kenzie is three months old and doing great. She smiles in her sleep often- I don't remember when Emmett stopped doing that. Someone once told me angels talk to infants while they sleep-which is why they smile. I like to think it's my mom making her smile. Until recently she was only waking once at night for milk, now it is closer to three times. Hoping it is a little growth spurt and not a new habit. She is holding her head up and has gained a little softness in her thighs! She is so squishy! She prefers to stand and is very strong! She is able to hold onto toys now- she has a few favorites, a doll from Barb, a horse from Christine, the very hungry caterpillar and a taggie blanket I made her. (Emmett never liked the ones I made him). She gurgles- laughs (Emmett did the same thing) and her hair is falling out; just like Emmett's did. They are so similar it just cracks me up. She is so happy and sweet. She adores Emmett- he can do no wrong in her eyes (let's hope that lasts). She loves her swing and naps quite often still. She sucks on her fist and whatever fingers end up in her mouth- I am told Wes did that too. She always gets the hiccups- at least once a day.

Happy Birthday Emmett!

Emmett had a pirate party this year. We were so tired from our trip to Virginia that we regretfully did not take very many photos of his party. Here are a few favorites. He had a great time and received so many fun gifts. We were so happy to spend his birthday with friends and family this year. We had a party at MomMom's, Grandpa Larry's and at The Magyars.



Emmett is so smart he knows all his letters and the sounds they make. He is a budding musician, recognizing artists and instruments by ear. He can count to 20 (although he often forgets 14, 15,16) He is a wonderful and loving BIG brother! He is still working on potty training. He was doing great until Kenzie came along, so we are starting over again with rewards and are giving him time to feel ready. He is moving up to the BIG preschool class 3-5 yr olds in a few weeks and I am sad he won't be in my class anymore but Emmett is ready to be challenged. He is a sweet friend and His daddy and I are very proud of him.

This is the park that I went to for lunch between high schools senior year; with my friends Heidi, Charlotte and Lisa. We used to talk about getting married there, fantasize about our futures, our kids, our lives. It is a dream to bring my children and my loving husband here. Here are a few of my favorite photos of one of my favorite spots in the world, Maymont Park in Richmond.



These photos make me realize how lucky I am. My wishes for the future came true. My little family is so beautiful and complete just in time for Wes and my fifth wedding anniversary.

At larry's we went to the Richmond zoo for the first time ever! (and some of us were brave enough to feed the giraffe's) we played RockBand on Xbox. We saw Kira's MAGIC SHOW!!! endured a million or so mosquito bites between all of us, took a paddle boat ride, celebrated Emmett's third birthday, swam at the pool and just hung out. Wes, Emmett and I had a few extra days where we rode a mall train, and went to maymont park.

We drove from Va to New Jersey with the kids. they both did great in the car, it took us over 9 hours to get there and about 8 to get back to VA. Here are some highlights with MomMom, Aunt Doris, uncle frank, Allison, Ryan, Mike with Jackpot, Robin and Genevieve.
