Happy Thanksgiving

Every year we reflect on how thankful we are and how fortunate we are. We thought we would take a moment to tell YOU that we are thankful for YOU! Thanks for all of the support, love, friendship, joy and happiness you give us everyday of the year. We hope you had a lovely holiday and many more to come.

A small list of what we're thankful for....

OUR family and friends, laughter,
nights when Emmett sleeps the WHOLE night,
our baby on the way
& the endless silliness and joy that our son gives us

big brother!

Emmett is very excited to share with everyone that he will be a BIG BROTHER in May. He, in fact, was so excited he told some of my co-workers before I was ready to spill the beans. We are safely out of the first trimester and besides all day sickness, all is going well. I am hoping that I'll start feeling better for the holidays. We are also not going to find out the gender this time ... Wes really wanted Emmett's gender to be a secret till the big day and somehow I made a deal that with the next child we would wait so, we're waiting. Actually, after Wes said that it is one of the only real suprises left in life, I feel like waiting will be really special.
We are all very busy and with our big news we are trying to enjoy Emmett as a single child as much as possible. He has been incredibly sweet. On occasion, I have been physically sick in front of him without warning, he sweetly hugs me and kisses my leg and says,"it's okay mom. it's okay" as he strokes my hair and waits for me to resume composure. He has been playing by himself to help mommy out when playing has been just too much for me. He really is just such a great little guy.

My other big news is that I am starting a Master's program this spring for Early Childhood Education with a license in Special Ed. It will be helpful in the job that I am in and open some more financial doors for me along the way. It will be difficult but it will be worth it for me and my family in the near future.

Funny Emmett things: Emmett was looking at a book of animals and saw a chipmunk. (as background for the story...) He is very good at naming animals from yaks, to flamingos, to porcupine fish, to llamas but this time he called it a CHOCOLATE CHIPMUNK. he he!

At school Emmett was usually the first person to help clean up and very helpful with singing our song too. Now Emmett calls clean up YUCKY! and runs from clean up. At first I reminded him we all need to help and he would sit in time out if he kept yelling "yucky". Later, Emmett told me he doesn't want to clean up because that means his friends have to go home. He didn't want the school day to end. He comes to school 4 days a week for two and a half hours, you would think that would be enought for a young 2 year old...but emmett loves his friends so much it is just "YUCKY" to say goodbye.
